Had a couple of side-by-side thrashes with a Gixxer 1000 - the first run I hit the rev-limiter and lost boost and he rode by, the second run there really was very little in it from 70 to about 140mph (the Gixxer perhaps edged it past 120). Obviously if we started at a higher speed the GSXR would romp away with its far superior aerodynamics. The Gixxer owner was shocked to say the least - lots of amazed headshaking when we pulled up for a cuppa!

Black SuperStorm, shortie TORs, wilbers +10mm shocks, Hagon progressive fork springs, Harrison Billet 6 pots.

Nope just from 70mph, any gear we wanted and go on three sort of thing.

Yes off the lights I usually catch sportsbikes out - while they are trying to control wheelies (or wheelie-control is cutting power) or bogging from the long 1st gear - I'm gone, rear wheel spinning away! Any damp though I'm done! It just doesn't grip enough, I'll fix that next tyre change replacing the rear Michelin Commander II with an Avon Spirit ST. (which I have on the front already.)

PS regarding "his HP" I'm making 172-176 at the back wheel (depending on dyno) proobably 6-8bhp up on a 2017 GSXR1000 - he has a much better power-to-weight ratio obviously. At the last dyno run I made 149ft/lbs at the backwheel at just over 4,900 RPM.

Can't find my later graphs which made a bit more poke. That's with the cat in - probably got another 10 BHP there but I don't really need it! That's some torque curve though!

It's fast, I'd say significantly quicker than a new Rocket. Might get my brother to borrow one so we can do some comparisons. It's quicker the more you rev it - as you can see from the dyno graph.
